Haytime!

Yesterday we baled the grass to make hay.  Sometimes if the weather isn't as hot then dad makes silage bales - which doesn't need the grass to be as dry.

We used my dad's uncle's vintage tractor a Ford Dexter and Massey Ferguson baler.  It made around 600 bales and considering the machine is quite old it did a great job of picking up the grass, compressing it into each bale, then wrapping and knotting two strings around it and then pushing it down the chute off the baler!   It was a really hot day, even one of the guests on the caravan site, Mr Coates, helped move and stack the bales onto the trailers.
